From now on is a duo show with artists Linn Sjöstedt (SE) and Päivi Koskinen (FI) revolving around everyday’s repeating and absurdity. Their artistic practices meet in a reflection of the repetitive aspects of the human condition. Our habits, routines, promises, hopes and goals are here presented in a borderland between frustration and comic.
The title From now on refers to a promise of change and a fresh start in life, even though the consequences of it could mean a new constant. It is Monday’s new fresh hold of the week, or the inner decision to say “this shall become a new routine”.
→ Päivi Koskinen (born 1977) is a Finnish artist living and working between Helsinki and Copenhagen. She graduated from the University of Lahti, in Finland from Fine Arts and works mainly with photography and video. Her body of work Monday has been exhibited previously in Helsinki, Barcelona, Bilbao, London and Copenhagen among other places, and some of the works belong to collections of museums in Finland and Spain.
→ Linn Sjöstedt is a ceramic artist graduated from Konstfack University of Arts, Craft and Design, based in Gustavsberg in Stockholm. As a ceramic artist she relates to functional objects and their everyday use. The recent years, Sjöstedt has exhibited at Open Craft in Örebro, Galleri Kammaren in Lund and at blås&knåda in Stockholm, among other places.
