BOX GALLERY
Box is an artist-run space for contemporary art projects and exhibitions. Based in Gothenburg, the gallery aims at promoting contemporary Swedish artists, as well as introducing international artists to a Swedish audience. Since the establishing of the project in 1998, Box has shown more than 90 exhibitions. With events such as exhibitions, artist talks, seminars and dialogues, Box has been able to build and establish its position as an important place of communication within the field of contemporary art. Box is run by Anna Bonnevier, Erik Betshammar, Kalle Brolin, Clara Fredenmark, Axel Grimlund, Eliana Ivarsdotter Haddad, Gustav Lejelind, Josefina Posch, Hans-Owe Rydberg Sara Schmidt, Hendrik Zeitler and Fredrik Åkum. Box is located at Kastellgatan 10 in the city centre of Gothenburg, approximately a 3 minute walk from Linnéplatsen, on the same street as Gallery 54.
OPENING HOURS
During exhibitions the gallery is opened Tuesday-Thursday, 1 pm-5 pm, Saturday-Sunday, 12 am-4 pm. The opening hours during short term projects and events varies, please contact Box for further information.
PROGRAM
Box’s program consists of between four and five exhibitions each semester, alongside short term projects and events. The program is set by a committee, but proposals from others are also considered. If you would like to send a proposal for collaborations or events, contact the gallery with your ideas. Exhibition applications will only be considered during specific dates which will be published on this site.
