Artist presentation with Claire Barclay

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear Glasgow based artist Clair Barclay speak about her work. Claire is currently an Iaspis fellow in Gothenburg and has a studio at Konstepidemin.

Claire Barclay lives and workes in Glasgow where she studied at the School of art in the late 80’s and early 90’s. Since then she has exhibited around the world and received recognition for her large-scale sculptural installations. In 2003 she represented Scotland at the Venice Biennale with an installation at Pilazzo Giustinian-Lolin. Her first retrospective was at the Fruitmarket Gallery in Edinburgh in 2009. Between 2007-2009 she was the recipient of the Paul Hamlyn Award and most recently she showed her installtion ‘Shadow Spans’ at The Whitechapel Art Gallery in London after recieveing  the Bloomberg Commission in 2010. Other selected exhibitions are ‘Pale Heights’, 2009, Mudam, Luxembourg, ‘Shifting Ground’, 2008, Camden Arts Centre, London, and ‘Fault on the right side’, 2007, Kunstverein Braunschweig.  Claire Barclay is represented by Stephen Friedman Gallery, London.
